Elmo Crumb – I'm Still Dizzy
Call Super's various aliases are beginning to sound synonymous with The Trilogy Tapes' oddball flex, and we have to say that they are probably among our favourite house and techno releases of recent years. This time Elmo Crumb is is moniker, and the sounds are as a sparse and explorative as ever; the arrangement of the nine-minute bomb "I'm Still Dizzy" is deep and intricate, filled with spectral sounds that are constructed with a clean analogue sound that sounds almost organic in texture. "I Am A Canary Bird" is similarly loose, except that the beat is more driving here, wrapped in a noticeably more techno-like coating that is bound to make the perfect companion to all sorts of rave frivolities. Stellar 12" from TTT; on form, as always.
