Mella Dee - Techno Belters EP
London based producer and DJ Mella Dee is set to release his new EP Techno Belters on his Warehouse Music imprint this September.
The four-track release opens with hard-hitting lead track ’Techno Belter’, which true to its name is a gritty peak-time stomper, layering skittering, stripped-back synths with pounding percussion to hypnotic effect. ‘Silver Street’ brings a weaponised industrial onslaught in the same raw, trippy vein; ‘Jack U Later (Floatation Device Mix)’ is a scorching techno acid roller, with steely propulsive percussion and a ghostly groove; whilst ‘Stack Select’ is a dark and minimal techno cut, with icy breaks, skittish percussion and searing synths.
Since the inception of Warehouse Music, Mella Dee has consistently raised the bar for club producers with his bold, high-energy take on warehouse music. Influenced by the likes of Underground Resistance, Floorplan and Derrick May, he creates a unique blend of driving techno by fusing elements of house with essences of hardcore and jungle. His latest outing follows impactful releases on Shall Not Fade and nine releases on his own label.
Mella Dee’s early influences originated from the sounds coming out of warehouses in and around his stomping ground. This soon developed into a love of the burgeoning scene and audio palette from warehouse parties worldwide; hardcore, house, bleeps, techno and everything in between.
Following the breakthrough success of ‘Techno Disco Tool’; reaching number 1 in BBC Radio 1’s Dance Music chart, in addition to his Warehouse Music imprint winning the ‘Best Breakthrough Label’ award at the DJ Mag awards, Mella Dee is rapidly becoming one of the most sought after names in dance music. More recently, he was named one of Mixmag’s ‘Stars of the Year’ for 2018 and also put out his debut Essential Mix for the legendary BBC Radio 1 series. With Techno Belter, he’s set to tear the warehouse down once again.
